FORM STUDIES
Form contributes to the attractive three-dimensional qualities. While going through the course I understood the way to apply the basic manipulation to a 2D shape and making it in 3D form.
There exists a strong relation between the form and the way we perceive them.
Work began with very basics, understanding the simple form language like radii, convex and concave curve, fillet and chamfer etc.
We started working in 2D with the help of lines and planes and then imagining the surfaces of the form.

After various explorations, I chose a 2D shape and further developed it in 3D and then subtracting a mass to create an interesting form and various other 3D forms by manipulating its surfaces.
Then we were asked to combine 3 solids in a form and subtracting and adding the mass to have a continuous flow in the form.
The form course was all about experiencing different visual change which leads to differences in the properties of how a form visually behaves. The experience of making a 3D form makes it more understandable and more clear about the edges and surfaces and how all these are interdependent on each and other.
Thank you :)
